  • Glenn F. Anderson, 95, of St. Charles and Geneva, began working for Colonial Dairy when he was still in high school and later became foreman of the ice cream production plant and managed distribution to Colonial restaurants and retail outlets. He served in the US Army from 1941 to 1945, and later was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Charles. He was well known and admired for singing solos at church and community functions (often accompanied by his wife), singing in Bethlehem church choir (over 75 years!), singing in several male quartets, and singing in community choruses during the holidays.
  • George M. Tresnak, 83, of Elburn, was an Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Before his retirement he was employed by Sprint Telephone Company, a member of the Streamwood Amvets and a big sports fan, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs and Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks.
  • Anthony “Tony” Andrise, 77, of Hernando, MS, was instrumental in the formation of the St. Charles Hunting and Fishing Club. He worked at Alumax Alum. Tony was also a proud veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard.

Moss Funeral Homes

  • Astor Robert Carlson, 93, of North Aurora had an accomplished career in the Marine Corps for 35 years and was on the grounds in Pearl Harbor during the invasion. Following his retirement he worked for the Army Reserves coordinating new recruits and arranging for where and when they would enter for their training.  In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, gardening or working in his yard.
  • Brian Lee Cotham, 48, of Pontiac, formerly of Elgin, died Friday, June 21, 2013 at Manor Care of Elgin. Visitation and a funeral service will be held Monday at the Moss-Norris Funeral Home.
  • Ilmi K. Ray, 94, of North Aurora, was a very energetic person who always had some project going on. She made lots of dresses and about a dozen quilts, which she sewed by hand.  She also liked to cook and bake. At the old Community Hospital in Geneva, Ilmi volunteered for almost 18 years, on occasion as often as two or three times a week. Ilmi and Arthur liked to bowl and take car trips in the states. She was a very good dancer but didn’t give that status to her husband.
