School Supply Drive, 'Be an Angel Day' and a COW Meeting—5 Things You Should Know for Monday, Aug. 22

Donating school supplies today will get you a free frozen ice cream treat.

You can be someone's hero today by participating in national be an angel day. If you do something nice for someone else the thought of kindness may come back to you. 

And, enjoy a beer tasting paired with delicious food. 

Here are five things going on Monday, Aug. 21:

1. The city of Geneva will hold a  at 7 p.m. in City Hall Council Chambers. On tonight's agenda is the authorization of Charter One Bank for City of Geneva banking services and amending the liquor control ordinance of Geneva City Code.

2. will continue for Geneva residents on the East Side of the Fox River. Brush collection guidelines can be found by clicking here

3.  is helping families in need by collecting school supplies as part of their . Anyone who brings in new school supplies worth at least $2 will receive a free junior-size Frosty treat. Donations will be taken in the dining area or at the drive through.

4. There will be a  from 6 to 9 p.m. Chef Vince will pair his delicious food with Sam Adams Beer for only $20. 

5. Parents with adorable babies born in 2010 or 2011 can enter them into the . This contest is part of Tom & Eddie's first-year anniversary celebration. 

Families can request a Tom & Eddies T-shirt from the restaurant (while supplies last). Take a photo of their precious baby in the shirt and post the picture on Tom & Eddie's Facebook page. The photo with the most "likes" wins a Silver Spatula Award, good for a free weekly meal for an entire year. 

Fun Fact: Today is National Be an Angel Day. This is a non-denominational spiritual day that encourages people to perform a random act of kindness and help those in need.
