What Day Does School Start in Geneva, IL?

The answer is: Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013.

The answer to the musical question posed in this article's headline is Aug. 21, 2013.

Yes, that's a Wednesday. It's a full day—no half-day starts to get the kids indoctrinated, as there had been in previous years. Teachers will use Monday and Tuesday to be rarin' and ready to go.

The 37th annual Geneva All-Sports Boosters Corn Boil will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at Burgess Field. You'll be introduced to the sports teams, marching band and enjoy great food and friends.

There's a teacher's institute day on Friday, Aug. 30. That's also the day of Geneva's first football game of the season, a 7 p.m. contest at Oswego.

The last day of school is May 30, 2014, barring any "snow days." There are five emergency days scheduled, which means the last day would not later than Friday, June 6.
