Wendy Martorano, Neighbor

I'm thrilled to have this opportunity to blog about my love of food and cooking!  My fascination with cooking came about as a young child who had 2 parents who worked full time jobs.  My dad got home from work earlier than my mom, so he tended to do most of the cooking in our house with my brother and I as his assistants.  When he was too busy to cook, my brother and I would often take over the job of getting dinner on the table. 

Through the years, I continued to cook for friends and family, even spent 12 years working in the restaurant business and in April decided to pursue cooking as a career and started a small catering business "M2 Custom Catering" here in Yorkville.  Although I have never been formally trained as a chef, I pride myself on easy cooking, using recipes that even  a novice in the kitchen can make!

A little bit more about me is that I have only lived in Yorkville for a little over 3 years, but as soon as my husband and I moved here I became involved in the community by joining the Yorkville Chamber of Commerce and as Vice President of the Yorkville Junior Women's Club, and am proud to call Yorkville my home!
