About Stageworks

Stageworks is a new educational theatre program in Geneva, Illinois.  This program is “All About the Process” and enjoying the creation of theatre for learners of all ages!   Stageworks curriculum is based on the National and Illinois Standards in Theatre Education and offers educational and performing opportunities for students from age 3 to 93! 

Amber Mitchell, founder and artistic director, brings to this project over 30 years experience in theatre and education.  Amber  holds 3 teaching certificates from the State of Illinois: Theatre Education, Music Education (Vocal) K-12 and Elementary Education and is currently working on her Master’s Degree in Directing at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.  Past productions under her direction have included casts of over 300 children!  Amber has recently performed in “Fiddler on the Roof” (Golde) and “The Music Man” (Mrs. Paroo).  Amber has experience in Stage Management (including assistant stage managing with Buffalo Theatre Ensemble – Equity) and has been the Lighting Designer for several seasons with the summer theatre program at North Central College.
