Kevin Burns is the Mayor of Geneva, Illinois, and a candidate for Chairman of the Kane County Board

A seasoned executive with more than 25 years of experience in the not-for-profit industry, Kevin has held leadership positions with client organizations that include: Muscular Dystrophy Association/Jerry Lewis Telethon, Paramount Arts Centre, United States Olympic Committee, Rush-Copley Medica Center Foundation, United States Equestrian Federation, Midwestern University, United States Figure Skating Association, and Roosevelt University.

Throughout his professional career, Kevin has raised millions of dollars for his clients through collaboration, co-operation, and consensus building. He has brought people together to address common visions and advance commo missions that help improve the lives the live of people and their communities.

Kevin is a 1982 of Geneva Community High School, and a 1986 graduate of Augustana College (Rock Island, IL). He has received numerous awards, including Augustana College's "Finest Under 40," Waubonsee College's "Distinguished Contributor," and served as a member of the Illinois Governor's Council on Physical Fitness & Sport, and the Chicago 2016 Olympic Bid Regional Co-ordinating Commitee.

Kevin has served as Mayor of Geneva since 2001. He served as Alderman from 1997 -2001, a member of the city's Plan Commission from 1995-1997, a member of the Geneva Historic Preservation Committee from 1993-1995, and as a member of the Geneva Library Board from 1989-1990.

Kevin has lived in Kane County for nearly his entire life, and is the proud father of three daughters: Emma, (22), Grace (19), and Florence (18).
