On the Blog Post Dave Peterson: New Signs Help You Cross Third Street in Geneva Safely

ReplyJust a quick observation: I think these signs are a great idea and work well to remind drivers of Illinois law, but I have noticed some drivers treating these signs as stop signs and completely stopping, even when there are no pedestrians in the immediate vicinity. I suppose, if Third Street were busier, this could cause a traffic problem, but for now I think we are okay. Again, this is just an observation.

ReplyAccording to a 'tweet' by the City of Geneva, city hall, the public works building, Geneva Fire Dept. Station #1, and Geneva Police Dept. are all designated "cooling centers." I was not aware that these even existed, let alone that Geneva had them! ;-) Link: http://www.geneva.il.us/bulletinboard/cooling.htm

ReplyAccording to police units on my scanner at the time of this incident, the deceased body may be that of a missing person from Batavia. From what I have heard at this time, to the best of my knowledge this information has not been confirmed, but is just a speculation by police officers. Also, police units did not give any more information as to a name, age, etc. about this missing person that they think this body may be. The coroner has been on the scene of this incident and may have already identified the body, however I will not hear this information on my scanner, so this is most likely the most I will hear about this incident over the radio. I hope this information helps!
