Brian Smith
meteorologist
Brian Smith is a warning coordination meteorologist at U.S. National Weather Service. He studied meteorology at University of Chicago. Originally from Geneva, IL, Brian lives in Elkhorn, NE.
Brian helped co-found with Tom Skilling, from WGN-TV, the Fermilab Tornado and Severe Storms Seminar. In Omaha, Brian manages the warning preparedness, public outreach, spotter training program,severe weather, public forecast, and damage survey programs in the office. He also will fill in as a forecaster. Brian is married to Paula and has four children: Colin (21), Brendan (19), Alec (16), and Ian (12).
