Groundhog Day 2013: Forget Punxsutawney Phil, Go to Woodstock

Just don't take the brown acid. Oh, sorry, that's another Woodstock. If you want to get in the fun of Groundhog Day, there's a great weekend trip up the road.

Forget Forget Punxsutawney Phil and Gobbler's Knob, PA. Woodstock, IL, is the place to be tomorrow—Saturday, Feb. 2, Groundhog Day 2013. As the Woodstock groundhog website will tell you, Woodstock is located 51 miles northwest of the Chicago loop. I'm not Irish, but my wife is of Irish discent and I've read Angela's Ashes. Does that count? If so, I might head out to Claddagh Irish Pub for a St. Patrick's Day treat or two. 1. St. Patrick's Day at Claddagh—Saturday's Irish celebration starts with Kegs and Eggs at 8 a.m. and continues with tents and Irish dancers and a U2 tribute band and traditional Irish music and about a billion other things Irish. Check it out at Claddagh's website. 2. High School Musical Urinetown!—Saturday's 7:30 p.m. show at Geneva High School is the last of three. It's also playing 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday night, and everyone says it's awesome. 3. Geneva Becomes LEGO Land!—Get to the Geneva History Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this weekend for a LEGO …
