Batavia Police Name Driver in Fatal Crash Friday on Randall Road

Police on Saturday morning identified the man who died after a two-car crash Friday on Randall Road. The man is 61-year-old David A. Schele of Sugar Grove, according to Batavia police. Schele died due to injuries sustained in the crash, according to a police press release issued Saturday. "Schele had been transported to Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL," the release said. "The cause of the crash is still under investigation." Schele's vehicle and another vehicle with a male and female inside were involved in the crash, which occurred at Randall Road and McKee Street in Batavia. Man Dies After 2-Car Crash Friday on Randall Road

The man had to be extricated from his vehicle, fire officials said. Here's what we know.

Update: Batavia police Saturday morning identified the man who died after the crash. One man was taken to a hospital and two other people were treated and released after a two-car crash late Friday afternoon on Batavia's west side. The serious crash occurred in the area of Randall Road and McKee Street. Batavia police and fire crews were dispatched to the scene at about 6:22 p.m., according to a police press release issued late Friday night. One male driver was taken to Delnor Hospital by Batavia paramedics, said Lt. Scott Hogan of the Batavia Fire Department. His condition was not immediately available Friday evening. Batavia Fatal Crash Investigation Continues

A male driver from one of the vehicles is still hospitalized, police said.

The investigation into a two-car crash where a Batavia woman died and a couple was injured is still ongoing, police said. The Batavia Police Department awaits a report from the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team on the crash this week. The team assists with crash investigations like this one, which took place at 11:52 p.m. Nov. 14 on Randall Road south of Mill Creek. The male driver of one of the vehicles involved was still in critical condition as of Nov. 16 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. Police Name Batavia Driver in Fatal Crash Wednesday

The 43-year-old was dead at the scene. Here is her identity and how the crash happened.

Police Thursday afternoon identified the Batavia woman who died at the scene of a head-on collision on Randall Road. The woman is 43-year-old Amy P. Holtorf, according to Batavia police. Holtorf was traveling northbound on Randall Road just south of Mill Creek when her 2005 Honda Odyssey minivan crossed the center lane and struck a 2012 Nissan Rogue traveling southbound, a police statement said. The crash occurred at 11:52 p.m. Wednesday. An occupant of the Nissan crossover SUV was flown by helicopter to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove in serious to critical condition. Update: Police Thursday afternoon identified the Batavia woman who died at the scene of the crash. A Batavia woman died in a two-car crash on Randall Road Wednesday night, according to police. An Aurora couple was also injured in the crash, which occurred at 11:52 p.m. Wednesday. The husband driver was airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove in critical condition, said Gary Schira, Batavia police chief. The wife was treated, released and was believed to be at her husband's side Thursday morning, Schira said. He did not have a current condition report for the man.
