Drunken Geneva Brothers Wreak Havoc on St. Charles' Filling Station

Kevin and Michael Hayes are slammed with multiple charges after one of them slams into a man in a wheelchair. The incident sparks scrutiny of The Filling Station and adds to controversy over the St. Charles bar scene

Two brothers from Geneva face multiple charges after police said they were kicked out of two downtown St. Charles bars for fighting, including a scuffle with a bouncer on some stairs that caused the bouncer and one of the brothers to fall into a man in a wheelchair. That same incident, coupled with one late Friday, likely spells trouble as well for The Filling Station, 300 W. Main St., where brothers Kevin C. and Michael P. Hayes, both 28, and both of the 00-99 block of Brookfield Lane, Geneva, were taken into custody early Saturday morning. Kevin C. Hayes is charged with disorderly conduct, and with resisting/obstructing arrest. He also was cited with disorderly conduct/public drunkenness and fighting. Michael P. Hayes is charged with …

Police Reports: Violation of Order of Protection, Public Intoxication

Two miscellaneous items collected from last week's Geneva police reports include an order of protection violation and a public intoxication citation. Violation of Order of Protection—Geneva police arrested David Blackmore, 47, of Geneva on charges of violating an order of protection after an incident at around 5:40 p.m. Feb. 12, reports said. The synopsis sheet said Blackmore entered and stayed at a residence in the 2000 block of Sheffield Lane after making multiple calls to the petitioner asking that she send the children outside to meet him.  Public Intoxication—Geneva police cited Stephanie Baldyga, 21, of St. Charles for public intoxication at around 2:27 a.m. Feb. 15 in an apartment common area in the 0-100 block of Simpson Street, …

Pair Cited for Public Intoxication Redux on Randall Road

Most likely, there's more to this simple Geneva police blotter item than what meets the eye, and perhaps there is a sad backstory. Still, the item itself raises so many questions, it's hard to know where to begin. Geneva police cited the same two people they cited a few weeks ago—Anthony Krause, 24, of Oswego and Donald Cox, 54, of Oswego—for public intoxication in the parking lot of a business in the 1400 block of South Randall Road. This time, the duo was cited at around 3:46 a.m. Dec. 1. In the previous incident, they were cited at 10:41 p.m. Nov. 19 in the 1800 block of South Randall Road. Police Make Arrests for Public Intoxication, Disturbing the Peace

Bad behavior led to citations for two men and an arrest of another in unrelated incidents collected this week from Geneva Police Department reports. Criminal Damage to Property Arrest—Geneva police arrested Scott Hosack, 38, of Elgin on charges of criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct after an incident at around 9:10 am. Nov. 23 in the 2000 block of Williamsburg Avenue, reports said. According to the complaint in the 16th Circuit Court, Hosack threw a glass vase on the floor in a residence “in such an unreasonable manner as to alarm and disturb (the victim) and provoke a breach of the peace.” The damage was estimated at less than $300. Police: Man's Public Intoxication Leads to Substance Possession Charge

Geneva police arrested Roman Ladron-DeGuevara, 35, of Geneva on charges of possession of a controlled substance and cited him for public intoxication around 12:31 a.m. Nov. 10 in the 1200 block of Lencioni Circle, reports said. According to the synopsis sheet, officers reported to a disturbance call by a neighbor. Ladron-DeGuevara was standing at the front door of the residence and was trying to wake someone to let him in. Reports said Ladron-DeGuevara had an unsteady gait, trouble keeping his balance and a strong odor of alcohol about him. As he was taken into custody for public intoxication, officers found three green pills inside a container in Ladron-DeGuevara’s front pocket. The report did not say what the drug might be but said …

Batavia Man Cited for Hitting Victim With 'Partially Full' Beer Bottle

Geneva police cited Thomas Grimston, 21, of Batavia for battery and public intoxication after an altercation at around 1:59 a.m. Oct. 13 on the sidewalk in the 200 block of West State Street, reports said. According to reports, Grimston struck the victim in the head with a “12-ounce glass beer bottle partially full with beer.” Grimston was cited under local ordinances and is subject to $50 fines for each offense if paid by the due date. Geneva police reports collected last week include a DUI arrest of a St. Charles woman, a public intoxication citation to a Geneva man and the someone unusual theft of gasoline of a car parked in a driveway. DUI, Liquor—Geneva police arrested Staci Engi, 26, of St. Charles on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without lights when required around 2:24 a.m. Feb. 19 in the alley between 113 and 121 S. Third St., reports said. Engi has a court date of March 7 at the Kane County Judicial Center, 37W777 Route 38, St. Charles. St. Charles Man Arrested for Endangering Life of a Child

Geneva police reports: A St. Charles man with four children is arrested at Wheeler Park for public intoxication, violating an order of protection and endangering the health and life of a child.

Geneva police arrested James Schnaitman, 41, of St. Charles on charges of violating an order of protection, public intoxication and endangering the health and life of a child after an incident at around 1:49 p.m. Feb. 18 at Wheeler Park, 822 N. First St., reports said. Police responded to Wheeler Park in reference to a report of a missing juvenile. The father of the child told police that his daughter had been missing for about five minutes. The father was at the park with three of his other children. Police noted that Schnaitman “appeared oblivious” to the children, who were “running around the park approximately 60 or 70 feet away from (Schnaitman) and were unsupervised.” Tri-Com Central Dispatch advised the officers that there was an …

Drunken Pounding on Door at 3:30 AM Leads to St. Charles Man's Arrest for Drug Possession

Geneva Police arrested Ryan Jeskey, 27, of St. Charles on charges of controlled substance possession, obstructing a police officer and public intoxication following an incident around 3:35 a.m. Aug. 22 in the yard of a residence in the 800 block of East Side Drive in Geneva. Reports said police responded to a complaint that a man was pounding on the door of the residence. When police arrived, they talked to the resident who said she wanted Jeskey to leave. “Jeskey was intoxicated an in an extremely agitated state … yelling loudly and disturbing other residents,” reports said.
