Horse Meat Found in IKEA Meatballs—But Not in Nearby Stores
The meatballs containing horse meat were not sold in the Schaumburg or Bolingbrook locations, the Associated Press reports.
Some IKEA Restaurant customers got more than they bargained for in the company's trademark Swedish Meatballs, Reuters reports. The world’s leading furniture retailer, which also has restaurants in each store, has stopped selling its Swedish meatballs in 13 European countries after tests found horse meat in the food labeled as beef and pork, the Associated Press reports. The horse meat-laden meatballs were on sale in the Czech Republic, Britain, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Slovakia, Hungary, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Cyprus and Ireland.
