When we asked for nominations for the best fall treat in Geneva, we received some wonderful suggestions in the comment field. Two of the entries were the clear winners with multiple votes, and they both happen to be gelatos! With an alliteration like "Geneva gelato," we knew there was a special Patch poll in the works, which is exciting, but left only one question. What the heck is a gelato? According to Wikipedia, "gelato is the Italian word for ice cream and sorbet. Italians use the word gelato to mean a sweet treat that is served frozen." There's something about food and fall. Maybe it's the whole harvest thing—the idea that we have this abundance of good food collected, and it's time to enjoy it.
