Here's a list of businesses that sold or served alcohol to underage patrons, according to the Illinois Liquor Control Commission.
Four shops and restaurants in North Aurora were among those that sold or served alcohol to minors during compliance checks, a state agency announced Wednesday. In August the Illinois Liquor Control Commission conducted compliance checks around the state and visited 177 businesses licensed to sell liquor. The teams randomly visit liquor stores, restaurants and bars in communities around the state to check for ongoing compliance with state laws mandating that no liquor is sold to minors under the age of 21. Employees of two businesses are arrested after a Police Department sweep.
Employees from two St. Charles businesses have been cited for selling alcohol to two 19-year-old civilians working with the St. Charles Police Department. The two teenagers were part of a recent liquor compliance inspection conducted by the Police Department April 27. The department inspected 20 establishments that sell alcohol within St. Charles. Two of the establishments, Magoo’s Tavern and SavWay Liquors, were cited for selling alcohol to minors. Officers arrested Magoo’s employee Renee M. Misceo, 2208 Schrader Lane, North Aurora, and SavWay Liquors employee Allen F. Diomedes, 1225 S. 11th St., St. Charles, for violating the city ordinance against the sale of alcohol to minors.
