DUI Arrests Include Aggravated DUI, 'Dazed' Driver, Drug Paraphernalia

Aggravated DUI—Batavia police arrested Beligca Marrero, 27, of Aurora on charges of aggravated driving under the influence, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, improper lane usage, no valid driver’s license, and state citations of DUI and DUI with a blood-alcohol content of more than .08, Batavia police reports said. The arrest took place around 12:21 a.m. April 4 in the 1100 block fo South Batavia Avenue. Marrero was transported to the Kane County Jail. DUI Alcohol—Batavia police arrested Michael J. Joyce, 24, of Batavia for driving under the influence, DUI with a blood-alcohol content of more than .08, disobeying a stop or yield sign, improper lane usage and disobeying a traffic control signal after a traffic stop around 12:52 a.m…

Driver Charged With Aggravated DUI After Route 25 Crash, Passenger Critical

A 35-year-old man faces aggravated DUI and reckless driving charges in connection to Sunday's serious car crash on Route 25, police said. Victor M. Alvarez, of the 1400 block of Golden Oaks Parkway, Aurora, was driving northbound in a silver Nissan Murano crossover sport-utility vehicle that ran off the west side of the roadway and struck a utility pole, according to a North Aurora police statement. Police responded at 2:11 p.m. Sunday to the crash scene, located about 100 ft. north of Ridge Road. Upon arrival, officers found the Murano with heavy passenger side damage. "A passenger in Alvarez’s vehicle, a 39-year-old male of West Chicago, was airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove," the statement said. "He was in critical …

Nicole Wiesner's Aggravated DUI Case Returns to Court

A status call is set for Dec. 5 at the Kane County Judicial Center before Judge Marmarie Kostelny.

The young Geneva woman who crashed at the intersection of Bennett and Dodson streets on May 4 returns to court Dec. 5. Wiesner was charged in July with aggravated driving under the influence that included bodily harm to a passenger. After the collision, Wiesner was driven to Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora. Her passenger, 22-year-old Lindsey Vanderheyden of Batavia, was lifted by helicopter to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. Vanderheyden initially told police Wiesner had fallen asleep behind the wheel as her Chevrolet Cavalier hurtled west down the Dodson Street hill, ran through the stop sign and crashed into trees next to a residential driveway at 224 N. West Chicago Man Found Guilty in DUI Crash That Injured Geneva Pedestrian

Geneva woman suffers severe injuries in the crash that took place Jan. 31, 2010, in St. Charles.

A West Chicago man has been convicted of his role in a 2010 DUI crash that severely injured a Geneva woman. Donald E. Rericka Jr., 49 (d.o.b. 9-26-1962), of the 29W block of Helen Avenue, West Chicago, was convicted late Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, by a Kane County jury of one count of aggravated DUI, a Class 4 felony. At about 2 a.m. Jan 31, 2010, Rericka, driving a Silver Chevy 1500 pickup truck south on Route 31 in St. Charles, made a left turn to go eastbound on Route 64. Rericka failed to properly negotiate the turn, lost control of his vehicle, drove up over the sidewalk and struck a tree and a pedestrian. The 20-year-old Geneva woman who crashed her car at Dodson and Bennett streets on May 4 now faces charges of aggravated driving under the influence.

Nicole Wiesner, the 20-year-old who crashed her car at Bennett and Dodson streets on May 4, has been charged with aggravated driving under the influence, Geneva police said in a Friday press release. The crash had been under investigation since it occurred at about 10:29 a.m. on that Friday in May. After the collision, Wiesner was driven to Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora. Does no one have any. Compassion for this girl. I'm sure that none of u would care to know about 6 weeks after the first accident the girl tried to kill herself and was hospitalized for days.
