Weather Alert: Wind Advisory Until 4 p.m. Monday

Winds can cause minor property damage and make driving hazardous, especially for high-profile vehicles. Wind Advisory: Overnight 25-35 mph Winds, Gusts to 50 mph

The National Weather Service issued the advisory from 7 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday as cold weather moves into the area.

If you’ve been wondering where the winter weather has been in the Tri-Cities and the greater Chicago area, brace yourself: The answer tonight is blowing in the wind. Strong winds will sweep through the Chicago area, bringing colder temperatures and the possibility of snow flurries Sunday and Monday. The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a wind advisory from 7 p.m. Saturday through 3 a.m. Sunday, according to Accuweather, as colder weather and possible snow flurries move into the area. The wind advisory forecasts west to northwest winds of 25 to 35 mph gusting to about 50 mph, although a few gusts up to 55 mph are possible. Wind Advisory for Kane, DuPage Counties Until 7 p.m. Sunday

The winds could cause minor property damage. Here's what you need to know.

A wind advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. this Sunday evening, according to the National Weather Service. A wind advisory means that sustained winds of 30 to 39 mph or gusts between 45 and 57 mph are likely. The following advisory was released at 2:46 p.m. Sunday: "Southwest winds will continue at 25 to 35 mph with occasional gusts up to 45 mph this afternoon. A cold front will push across the area late this afternoon and early this evening, turning the winds out of the west. Weather Alert: Hot, Windy Days Ahead—Plus Some Advice to Beat the Heat

The National Weather Service has a wind advisory in place, and it's supposed to get into the 90s, so here's a little advice on how to stay cool. There's a good chance of thunderstorms Wednesday night and later in the week.

The National Weather Service for the Geneva area has issued a Wind Advisory and Hazardous Weather Outlook, forecasting blustery and hot conditions for the next few days. The NWS-Chicago says there's a chance of thunderstorms at the back end of the week. According to the NWS-Chicago, we're looking at highs of 94, 95 and 91 for Monday through Wednesday. The Kane County Health Department has issued a press release with tips on how to keep cool, which are included below. Wind Advisory in Effect for Kane Until 10 AM Thursday

Gusts up to 45 mph expected, so be careful driving!

The National Weather Services says Kane County is in for a very blustery—and potentially dangerous—night due to extremely high winds. The Wind Advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Thursday. "WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO INCREASE THIS EVENING... WITH STRONG WINDS LIKELY THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT PERIOD AND LINGERING THROUGH EARLY THURSDAY MORNING," the NWS Chicago says. "WINDS ... NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS UP 35 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH ARE LIKELY. "THE STRONG WINDS COULD RESULT IN MINOR WIND DAMAGE... DOWNED TREE LIMBS AND POWER LINES.
