More Snow’s on the Way for Tri-Cities

An Alberta clipper-type system moved into the St. Charles, Geneva and Batavia region Sunday night, with snow expected this morning.

If you like snow, smile, if not, frown. Regardless, it looks like we’re going to need our shovels this Monday morning. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for snow beginning at 10 p.m. Sunday until noon Monday, with 2 to 5 inches of snow expected along a line north of Rockford to Chicago, which puts the Tri-Cities close to the line of greatest snowfall. Light snow showers may continue through Monday afternoon. The weather service says the storm system is well-organized and reminiscent of an Alberta clipper, a rapidly moving low-pressure system out of Canada that sometimes affects the upper Midwest and the Great Lakes region.
