For Thanksgiving I always go to Casey's for my turkey. I feel like they have the freshest birds. So, it was really disappointing when one year my turkey, despite it's potential, didn’t turn out as planned. I was so upset my caruncle nearly burst. Kane Health Department: Ground Turkey Recall Is Expanded

Cargill Meat Solutions Corporation is recalling approximately 185,000 pounds of ground turkey products.

The Kane County Health Department is advising that a recall of ground turkey products announced last month has been expanded. Cargill Meat Solutions Corporation, a Springdale, AR, establishment, is recalling approximately 185,000 pounds of ground turkey products that may be contaminated with a strain of Salmonella Heidelberg, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The products subject to recall include: Fresh Ground Turkey Chubs Fresh Ground Turkey Trays Fresh Ground Turkey Patties A total of 79 persons infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Heidelberg have been reported from 26 states between March 1 and Aug. 3.
