Police reports say there were 11 incidents of a person or persons stealing Oberweis milk in the early morning hours of Jan. 4. Do you know anything about this case? If so, contact the Geneva Police Department.
The big milk heist of Jan. 4 might not go down in the Geneva history books as the crime of the century, but it's definitely right up there with the most interesting so far of 2013. A person or persons went on a milk-stealing frenzy—big Oberweis Dairy fans, apparently—hitting almost a dozen homes in Geneva, according to Geneva police reports. Reports say there were 11 similar thefts reported in all, although some were not yet registered in the police blotter. Here's what we know: Someone took six half-gallon bottles of milk and one milk crate from a residence in the 900 block of Harbor Town Court sometime between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. Jan. 4. According to the continuation report, police responded to the residence after receiving a call saying …

Last of the ho-ho-holiday mischief? Here's what we hope is the final installment of the season's Christmastime crime.
Each year, while Santa's elves are making toys for good little girls and boys, elves of a different sort take time to make the season a little less bright. Here is what we hope is the last of the 2012 holiday season's Christmastime crime, from the files of the Geneva Police Department: Theft Under $300—Someone stole a 12-foot inflatable snowman as it sat in the front yard of a home in the 700 block of Meadow Lane sometime between 10 p.m. Dec. 20 and 6 a.m. Dec. 21, reports said. The decoration was valued at $200. Fresh footprints in the snow led up to and away from where the snowman sat, reports said. Click the "Keep Me Posted" button below this text.
