Halloween Rollover Accident Leads to St. Charles Car Theft Investigation

St. Charles police reports: Two people flee from Route 38 accident by running into a cornfield.

At least two people stole a Pontiac Grand Am from a St. Charles driveway, drove to Route 38 in Elburn, flipped over the car and escaped into a cornfield on Halloween night, according to St. Charles police reports. Elburn police responded to a rollover accident along Route 38 at 4:36 p.m. Oct. 31, when they spotted two people running away from the accident into a cornfield. Elburn police requested a K-9 unit, and St. Charles police assisted but were unable to locate any suspects. St. Charles police then went to the 1600 block of Covington Court in St. Charles, where they met with the owner of the wrecked car, who had just returned home from work about 7:05 p.m. The 44-year-old St. Charles resident told police his vehicle, a 1997 Pontiac …
