The woman's car veered off the road, crashed through a fence and struck a utility pole, according to police.
The Batavia woman that went to the hospital after a one-car crash earlier this month on Main Street received a citation in the incident, police said. The 34-year-old woman was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, according to a Batavia police crash report. The incident occurred at 11:27 a.m. Feb. 10 on the 1300 block of Main Street. Conditions were wet and icy on the roadway when the woman lost control of her crossover sport-utility vehicle. She struck a city street sign pole with signs, a fence on Mooseheart property and a wooden ComEd electric utility pole, the report said. The woman's vehicle rolled over and came to stop on its roof.
