Man Accused of Murdering His Dad Held on $1.8 Million Bail

Martrell Harris of North Aurora remains in custody at the Kane County Jail after a Monday stabbing incident in which his father died.

A North Aurora man accused of murdering his father remains in the Kane County Jail on a $1.8 million bail. Martrell Harris faces two counts of first-degree murder following a stabbing Monday at the Harris family home in North Aurora. To apply for bond and be released, Harris or someone else needs to post 10 percent of the bail, or $180,000. There is also a hold on Harris in Cook County for a 2011 case involving PCS, or possession of a controlled substance, according to jail records. If Harris posts bond on the Kane County murder charges, he would have to report to Cook County for the separate charges. Police officers were dispatched at 10:12 a.m. Monday to the Harris home on the 700 block of Jorstad Lane for a report of a stabbing. An …
