71-Year-Old Motorcycle Driver Crashes on Blackman Road

A school bus is in the area but not involved in the crash, police say.

A 71-year-old motorcycle driver attempting to pass a vehicle crashed on Blackman Drive at the intersection of Blackman Court around 3:05 p.m. May 6, Geneva police reports said. Kenneth Musil, 71, of Geneva was driving a Honda CN250 east on Blackman Drive while a GMC Cutaway driven by Sandra Roman, 54, of Bartlett was stopped eastbound in the intersection of Blackman Drive waiting to turn left onto Blackman court. The motorcyclist attempted to pass the GMC on the left as the GMC was activating its turn signal, reports said. Musil “made an evasive action to avoid striking” the GMC, lost control and crashed on the driver’s right side of the motorcycle. Musil was taken to Delnor Hospital by Medic 251. Man Sent to Hospital After 2nd Motorcycle Crash in 36 Hours

A motorcycle and a small car collided on Route 31 near downtown Batavia, witnesses said. This is the second motorcycle crash in two days for the area.

One man was transported to a hospital after a motorcycle vs. car crash Thursday near downtown Batavia, police and witnesses said. This is the second motorcycle crash for the Geneva-Batavia area over a 36-hour period.  At 7 a.m. on Wednesday, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motorcycle vs. semi crash at Kirk Road and Cherry Lane in Geneva Township. The Thursday crash occurred at about 7 p.m. in the 100 block of North Batavia Avenue (Route 31) in Batavia. Patrol officers and the Batavia Fire Department responded to an initial call for a crash with injuries, according to police. A narrative of the crash was not available Thursday night from officials. Police Name Driver In Fatal Kirk Road Crash Wednesday

The 27-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which took place at Kirk Road and Cherry Lane in Geneva Township. Here is his identity and how the crash happened.

Police Wednesday morning identified the man who died at the scene of a motorcycle vs. semi crash in Geneva Township. The man is 27-year-old Eric Mondragon of Elgin, according to a Kane County Sheriff's Department press release. Mondragon was driving a Suzuki GSX Motorcycle that collided with the trailer of a semi at Kirk Road and Cherry Lane, the press release said. Kane County Sheriff’s Deputies and Geneva Fire Department personnel responded to a report of a crash with injuries at the intersection at about 7 a.m. Wednesday. A Freightliner semi tractor with a trailer was turning from the entrance to Fifth Third Bank Ballpark on Cherry Lane to go north onto Kirk Rd, an initial investigation revealed. A Kane County man died Wednesday morning after his motorcycle collided with the side of a semi on Kirk Road in Geneva Township, police said. The man collided with the semi's trailer as the semi was turning onto northbound Kirk Road from Cherry Lane. The crash occurred at about 7 a.m. Wednesday, said Lt. Pat Gengler, Kane Co. The message is drive like a moron and you will loose your life. Memorial Day Crash Takes Life of Motorcycle Driver on Randall Road in Geneva

The second fatal motorcycle-versus-car collision in Geneva in the past eight days—this time on Randall Road—takes the life of a motorcycle driver on Memorial Day.

Police reported Monday night the second fatal motorcycle-versus-vehicle collision in Geneva during the past eight days. Police responded to the accident at 6:42 p.m. on Memorial Day, May 28, 2012, at Randall Road and Gleneagle Drive. "Upon arrival, officers determined that a motorcycle being driven north on Randall Road collided with the rear of a sports utility vehicle at the above intersection," a Geneva Police Department press release said. "The sole occupant of the motorcycle sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene." Police Reports: 67-Year-Old Man Injured in Motorcycle Crash on Batavia Avenue

A 67-year-old St. Charles man is taken to Delnor Hospital on May 14 after falling off to avoid hitting another vehicle.

A motorcycle driven by James Haag, 67, of St. Charles crashed around 1:50 p.m. May 14 in the 2000 block of Batavia Avenue (Route 31) about a quarter mile north of Fabyan Parkway, Geneva police reports said. Haag was driving north on Batavia Avenue when the vehicle in front of him slowed “sharply,” and as he applied the brakes of his Iron Horse Outlaw, he lost control of the vehicle and fell, reports said. Haag was taken to Delnor Hospital by Batavia Medic 51. More than $1,500 of damage was done to the motorcycle, reports said.
