Geneva's Big Oberweis Milk Heist of 2013

The big milk heist of Jan. 4 might not go down in the Geneva history books as the crime of the century, but it's definitely right up there with the most interesting so far of 2013. A person or persons went on a milk-stealing frenzy—big Oberweis Dairy fans, apparently—hitting almost a dozen homes in Geneva, according to Geneva police reports.  Reports say there were 11 similar thefts reported in all, although some were not yet registered in the police blotter. Here's what we know: Someone took six half-gallon bottles of milk and one milk crate from a residence in the 900 block of Harbor Town Court sometime between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. Jan. 4.
