NBC's top-rated summer show will be holding auditions in Chicago at McCormick Place on Jan. 26 and Jan. 27.
Last season, "American's Got Talent" had three unique finalists: A comedian, a family dog act and a one-of-a-kind musical instrument. The winner? A group of dogs that danced, performed jump rope tricks and even some gymnastics. "Chicago is an important city for 'America's Got Talent,'" said senior casting producer Jason Shuler. "We have had several top talent audition at our Chicago open calls. Among them are Chicago group Footworkingz and the piano player from Edon from our most current season." Notable winners who auditioned in Chicago: Neal E. Boyd from season three and Kevin Skinner from season four. Thousands of Obama fans cheered and danced in McCormick Place on Tuesday night as news networks predicted the president would win.
As network news stations predicted President Barack Obama would win reelection shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday night, fans crowded into McCormick place cheered and danced. Campaign organizers played songs like "RESPECT" by Aretha Franklin as supporters called out "four more years, four more years!"
Obama supporters from around the suburbs and the city of Chicago waited to see the president during an election night rally in McCormick Place.
Waiting for the president to arrive at McCormick Place on election night, supporter Ignacio Ayala of Plainfield said he hoped the night would bring some of the same excitement as the rally in Grant Park in 2008. "I hope it's the same," said Ayala. "That was big." More than 10,000 people are expected to rally around President Barack Obama as he and his campaign members await election results tonight. Like Ayala, other Obama supporters said they, too, were hopeful that the election results would bring cause for celebration. Elvin and Nicole Knox, from Homewood, said they had been checking predictions on CNN and Politico all day.
