Sure, school is back in session, but the kids don't have to be the only ones hitting the books this month.
Although Labor Day marks the last hurrah for white pants, barbeques and kids up late on a Sunday night, it is not the end of the season. People, until the clock strikes midnight on Sept. 21, it's still summer. And that means there's just enough time to squeeze in another good book atop your favorite lounge chair. May 15—Geneva’s Got Talent applications must be received in our office by this date. Only the first 75 applications received will be invited to audition on May 20 for a chance to perform during Swedish Days and win $1,000 First Place cash prize. May 15—Represent your organization and/or business in the 63rd Swedish Days Parade on June 24. There is no application fee. Once your application has been reviewed, you will be issued a line up number. This parade draws tens of thousands from all over Illinois and beyond. Obviously, the tax deadline every year is April 15, right? Well, yes and no. This season, the deadline for postmarking or e-filing your federal tax return is actually April 17, believe it or not. There's a pre-registration deadline of March 27 for the Teen Night Owl Egg Hunt, one of three big Easter events coming up for the Geneva Park District! Teen Night Owl Egg Hunt Calling all teens! Join the Geneva Park District for an egg hunt starting at 7:30 p.m. March 30 at Wheeler Park, at Route 31 and North Street. Teens will have a blast at finding eggs scattered around Wheeler Park filled with candy and prizes including a variety of gift certificates and more. Cost is $5 for residents and $8 for nonresidents.
