Toxicology reports show Jennifer Liston’s blood-alcohol content was .229, and she had other controlled substances in her system as well.
The driver of a car stolen in Wheaton that plowed head-on into a vehicle in Campton Hills on Dec. 1, killing a Maple Park man, had a blood-alcohol content that was nearly three times greater than the limit for driving under the influence, authorities said Friday. The toxicology report on Jennifer Liston, 30, of Madison WI, showed she had a blood-alcohol level of .229, well above the .08 legal limit, as well as other controlled substances in her system, the Campton Hills Police Department said in a release. “Though Liston’s blood-alcohol content was not ruled the cause of death, I can, with a reasonable amount of surety, say that it was a major contributing factor in the cause of the accident,” said Chief Dan Hoffman. A North Carolina man had cocaine, heroin and alcohol in his system when he died at the Kane County Fairgrounds in August, according to toxicology test results.
The Kane County Coroner’s Office ruled that a North Carolina man who died this summer while working for a circus at the Kane County Fairgrounds died as a result of multiple drug use. The official cause of death was listed as polypharmacy/accidental, and reflects that the death of Casey Dale Walker, 22, of Etowah, N.C., was an accidental death induced by the use of multiple drugs. The St. Charles Police Department, in a release, said that a toxicology report from the Illinois Crime Laboratory showed high traces of cocaine, heroin and alcohol in Walker’s system. The finding puts an end to speculation by PETA, an animal rights activist group, that Walker had been attacked and killed by an elephant performing with Piccadilly Circus. St. …

Kane County Board Chairman Karen McConnaughay appointed former Sugar Grove Police Chief Brad Sauer as interim Kane County Coroner, according to the Kane County Chronicle. The position has been vacant since the July death of former Coroner Chuck West. Sauer will hold the role until the November elections when Republican Robb Russell and Democrat Tao Martinez will square off, the newspaper reported. In a Wednesday press release, Russell called the appointed "a positive step in the right direction for the Kane County Coroner’s Office." “I don’t know Chief Sauer, but I applaud the choice. I know as a former police chief he will bring needed discipline and accountability that only an experienced police officer can bring. I look forward to …
