If you've got wit, add your caption to Patch's weekly comic challenge and win a personalized print.
Are you blessed with insight and good humor? Or just bored today? Share your wit with your neighbors by entering Patch's comic caption challenge. Just add your dialogue for today's comic in the comment section of this post. Our only requirement is that you keep it clean! At week's end, we'll pick the winning punchline based on how many of us here at Patch giggle and smile at your contribution. The user who produces the winning punchline will get a personalized proof of the comic, with the winning words and a credit line, from cartoonist Chuck Ingwersen and Patch. Congratulations to Dirk Jackson, who provided the winning punchline to last week's Magic Bear cartoon: Abracabeara! I always mess up that word.

Event sponsored by area congressmen takes place in Addison.
Looking for leads on jobs? On Monday a jobs fair hosted by U.S. Reps. Randy Hultgren, Peter Roskam, Bob Dold and Joe Walsh will take place in Addison. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Medinah Banquets, 550 North Shriners Lane in Addison. More than 100 employers will be present, representing various industries. “Unemployment has been above 8 percent for 41 months now, and U.S. Census data tells us that small businesses employ more than 25 percent of the total workforce,” said Hultgren, who represents Geneva and the Tri-Cities. “Clearly, there has never been a more crucial time to connect job seekers with employers looking to hire.” The jobs fair is free. Bring plenty of resumes to pass out.
