The National Weather Service—Chicago has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Geneva area, starting Thursday evening. Timing Rain will change to wet snow from west to east late Thursday afternoon into Thursday evening through late Thursday night—and it's likely to be heavy at times. Strong winds will develop later Thursday afternoon and continue through Thursday night. Snow Accumulation As of Wednesday afternoon, the indictions are that totals of 2 to 6 inches are likely, with higher amounts expected to the north and west. More is possible if heavy snow bands and thundersnow develop. Wind Gusts of 50 to 60 mph are expected.
