Geneva Thefts Include Pumpkins, Spider Earrings and a $2,100 Bracelet

Geneva police reports: Among the items taken are a $2,100 gold belcher chain bracelet from a locker in a fitness center, a wallet lifted while the victim was shopping in an arts and crafts store and Halloween items from a Third Street store.

There was a Halloween theme to some fo the theft reports found this week in the Geneva police blotter, as well as the scary knowledge that your wallet can be stolen from your purse or your expensive bracelet taken from your locker if you aren't careful. Here's the roundup: Theft—Someone took a wallet containing an Illinois driver’s license, social security card, several credit cards, a check book and about $10 in cash from the purse of a woman shopping at Michael’s Arts & Crafts, 1506 S. Randall Road, sometime between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. Oct. 1, reports said. The total value of the items was estimated at $25. Teen Nabbed in St. Charles, Geneva Retail Thefts

Geneva police arrest an 18-year-old on Friday, Sept. 14, on charges of retail theft from Ace Hardware Store. Later that day, he's arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. And a week later, he's arrested in St. Charles for retail theft again. Here are the blotter items: Geneva police arrested Zachery Duncan, 18, of Hickory Hills on charges of retail theft after an incident at around 2:12 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Geneva Ace Hardware, 617 W. State St., Geneva. According to the complaint in the 16th Judicial Court, Duncan took a Resolve 12-piece outdoor multi-tool from the store. The multi-tool had a total value of less than $300, reports said.   Then, around  3:39 p.m. Sept. 14, Geneva police arrested Duncan on charges of possession of drug…

Aurora Man Charged with Leaving Scene of Accident, Marijuana Possession

Geneva police arrested Ryan Deslauriers, 33, of Aurora on charges of possession of marijuana, leaving the scene of an accident, DUI alcohol and driving too fast for conditions after an accident Aug. 16 at 1900 block of South Kirk Road, Geneva police reports said. According to the complaint in the 16th Judicial Court, Deslauriers had less than 2.5 grams of a substance containing marijuana. He has a court date of Sept. 5 at the Kane County Judicial Center, 37W777 Route 38, St. Charles.   Patch reports on law enforcement activity in Geneva, using information provided by official agencies. Blackout Cited as Reason for Crash With Postal Service Truck—and Other August Collisions in Geneva

The summary of collision reports in Geneva during the first half of August 2012 shows an incident in which a man said he blacked out at the wheel, as well as several other accidents with injuries and citations. Accident with Injuries on Kaneville Road—The front of a Yamaha V-Star driven by Duane Wickstrom, 61, of Geneva collided with the rear of a Frumman Postal Service vehicle driven by Scott DeFoy, 51, of Batavia around 3:34 p.m. Aug. 2 in the 1600 block of Kaneville Road about 200 feet east of Burgess Road, Geneva police reports said. Wickstrom was taken to Delnor Hospital. Wickstrom told police he blacked out for a moment, and when he came to, he was too close to the Postal Service vehicle to stop. A garbage truck collides with a Toyota Tundra, accidents with injuries and a number of teenage drivers are among the accident reports collected this week from the Geneva Police Department.  Accident at 500 block of Hamilton Street—The passenger’s side of a Chevrolet Suburban driven by Domenica Frazier, 47, of Geneva collided with the front of a parked Dodge Grand Caravan around 5 p.m. Aug. 2 in the 500 block of Hamilton Street about 40 feet east of North Sixth Street, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Accident on Geneva Commons Parking Lot—The rear of a Toyota Highlander driven by Patti Hurley, 52, of Geneva collided with the driver’s side of a Honda Accord driven by Alexander Adams, 18, of St. Charles …

Geneva police reports collected this week show two DUI arrests, including one case in which a man is charged with striking an unattended vehicle with his own, then leaving the scene. Major Traffic DUI—Geneva police arrested Nickalos Rizzato, 38, of Geneva on charges of driving under the influence, improper lane usage, failure to give information after striking an unattended vehicle, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle following a traffic stop around 4:03 p.m. July 1 in the 500 block of Western Avenue, Geneva police reports said. Rizzato has a court date of July 25 at the Kane County Judicial Center, 37W777 Route 38, St. Charles. Geneva Police Reports: An orthodontist's sign and two mailboxes are among the criminal damage to property items.

A rock and a baseball bat are among the items suspected to have inflicted criminal damage to property in this roundup from the Geneva Police Department reports. Criminal Damage to Property Over $300—Someone damaged the business sign at Dentistry Orthodontics, 2700 Keslinger Road, sometime between 9 p.m. June 19 and 8 a.m. June 20, reports said. The owner said the sign apparently was damaged when someone threw a rock through the plastic panel. The cost of repair is estimated at $600. Criminal Damage to Property Under $300—Someone damaged a wooden mailbox and post in the 800 block of Chandler Avenue sometime between midnight and 10 a.m. June 13, reports said.
