How are you preparing for Aug. 24?

Starting school in Geneva is just around the corner, 14 days to be exact. Elementary teacher assignments were sent home last Friday.  Thankfully, there were no tears in my house this year! My daughter is excited for her fifth-grade year, she likes her teacher but is very nervous about the homework rumors—she's afraid she'll have a lot to do.  I had to do a little chuckle to myself when the teacher assignment came in the mail. First of all, we were not home at all that day, and throughout the day my phone and Facebook lit up with requests to know who my daughter got for fifth grade. Reminder: Those Middle School Packets Are Due Thursday

Yes, it's July, but there's a school deadline coming up that's kind of important.

School District 304 is reminding parents of middle school students that there's an important deadline Thursday. Registration packets at the middle school level are due on Thursday, July 14. Late registration packets will result in a delay in the mailing of the student schedules. "If there are financial concerns that are causing a delay in the mailing of the registration packet, please call the office to discuss alternative payment options," District 304 Connects says in an e-mail blast.
