False 911 Armed Robbery Report at Geneva Commons Leads to Disorderly Conduct Arrest

It's bad news when someone calls 911 for no reason. And it's worse if a person purposefully sends police on an armed-robbery wild goose chase. Geneva police arrested Derrick Orr, 25, of Chicago on two charges of disorderly conduct, for a false 911 call and false police report, and criminal damage to state property at around 1:20 p.m. Jan. 9, Geneva police reports said. According to the synopsis sheet, police responded to an emergency 911 call reporting an armed robbery had occurred just outside Dick’s Sporting Goods, 619 Commons Drive. The male caller said his wife’s purse had just been snatched by a male offender who was running toward the Crate and Barrel store armed with something metal.
