Three drunken driving arrests—one in Geneva and two in St. Charles—were one result of Kane County’s St. Patrick’s weekend No-Refusal operation, officials announced Tuesday, April 2. The no-refusal weekend is a collaboration between the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office and five law-enforcement agencies: Batavia, Elburn, Geneva, South Elgin and St. Charles. Authorities obtained three blood-alcohol concentration samples — all breath samples. Of the three samples obtained, two were more than twice Illinois’ threshold of .08, and one was in excess of three times the .08 threshold. BATAVIA Feb. 13: Sam L. Erwin, 53, of the 1200 block of Fagan Road, Batavia, was cited for the following: Two drivers, including Erwin, were involved in the crash. The crash occurred at 6:17 p.m. at Towne Avenue and Millview Drive, according to a police report. Erwin was arrested shortly thereafter on Halladay Drive, about two-tenths of a mile from the crash. Erwin posted $150 and his driver's license for bond. He was given a March 20 court date. Peters, 50, of the 6N200 block of Woodland Drive, St. Charles, was driving on Route 71 near Legion Road, southwest of Yorkville, when a Kendall County sheriff’s deputy clocked him driving 104 mph in a 55 mph zone about 10:27 p.m. Although the report lacked details, it did state that Peters’ arrest on a charge of speeding was followed with a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. Riverside Ave., where she turned herself in on a warrant for battery.
