Naperville Woman Charged With Children's Stabbing Death Ordered to Provide DNA Samples

Area News Reports: A DuPage County judge granted a request from prosecuters to test hair and saliva samples of Elzbieta Plackowska.

A Naperville woman accused of stabbing to death her 7-year-old son and a 5-year-old girl she was babysitting has been ordered by a DuPage County judge to provide DNA samples, Daily Herald reports. DuPage County Judge Robert Kleeman granted a request from prosecuters to test hair and saliva samples of Elzbieta Plackowska, 40, during a hearing on Monday, according to Daily Herald. Plackowska was indicted Nov. 15 on five counts of first-degree murder for the alleged stabbing deaths of her 7-year-old son Justin Plackowska and five counts of first-degree murder for the death of 5-year-old Olivia Dworakowski. Both children were found stabbed to death on the night of Oct. 30 when Plackowska was babysitting them inside a townhouse in the 800 block…

Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Over Kane County Raises

Reports: Judge Thomas Mueller cites "lack of evidence" in case accusing former Kane County Board Chairman Karen McConnaughay of dishing out raises to cronies.

A Kane County judge has dismissed a lawsuit brought by a former County Board chairman candidate that accused Kane County Board Chairman Karen McConnaughay of dishing out hefty raises to high-level employees. The suit, filed by Jim MacRunnels, said McConnaughay didn't follow proper procedures in administering county personnel and salaries. The suit was filed in 2010, then dismissed, and was dismissed again Tuesday in appellate court, according to an article in the Daily Herald. Case Against St. Charles Plan Commission Chairman Continues

Court scheduled to hear traffic incident case May 25. Todd Wallace is charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to provide aid or information after the incident.

The case against St. Charles Plan Commission Chairman Todd Wallace stemming from a June traffic incident has been continued. Wallace’s case was continued until May 25 at 9 a.m., according to court records. Wallace was scheduled to be in court April 16. Police ticketed Wallace for failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to provide aid or information after the incident, according to court records. According to court records, Darlene Mitson claims 36-year-old Wallace was negligent when he made a right turn and struck her just before 9 p.m. on June 24 near First and Main streets. Gun-Toting Pair Accused of St. Charles Home Invasion Could Be Tried Together

An April trial scheduled in the cases of Sam Aunner and Redrell Bradley, held in Kane County Jail on $1.5 million bail in connection to the November 2010 home invasion and robbery on Adams Avenue.

A pair of men charged with a 2010 St. Charles home invasion should be tried together at one upcoming trial, according to prosecutors. Sam Aunner, 29, last of Chicago, and Redrell Bradley, 35, last of Glen Ellyn, each remain in Kane County Jail on $1.5 million bail in connection to the November 2010 home invasion and robbery on Adams Avenue. The man are each scheduled to stand trial before Circuit Judge Timothy Sheldon on April 30, but prosecutors want to have the men tried at the same time because the evidence and witnesses presented will be identical in each man’s case, court records show. Man Charged in Batavia, STC Robberies Confesses to Bank Heist

Douglas Kelley of Batavia told police he tossed bank money out of a car window after a dye pack exploded during a Jan. 18 robbery. Here's more details.

The Batavia man accused of holding up Subway restaurants in Batavia and North Aurora, as well as a St. Charles motel, admitted to robbing an Elgin bank in January, according to court records. Douglas Kelley, 27, remains in federal custody on charges he and another man used toy guns to take nearly $3,000 from Elgin State Bank during a January heist. Kelley was arrested by Elgin police during a traffic stop shortly after the robbery, but not before Kelley tossed some of the money out of the car because it started smoking when a dye pack exploded, an FBI affidavit explains. Kane County prosecutors allege Kelley brandished a toy pistol or pellet gun during three holdups in and around the Tri-Cities in November and December. He faces three …

LeMaire's First Court Appearance Is Wednesday

Former Geneva Streets Superintendent Steve LeMaire is facing official theft and misconduct charges for misuse of a city credit card.

Former Geneva Streets Superintendent Steve LeMaire will have his first day in court at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, in Room 319 of the Kane County Judicial Center in St. Charles. LeMaire was indicted by a grand jury on charges of theft, online theft by deception and official misconduct for allegedly making $24,000 worth of personal purchases on his city of Geneva credit card. He was put on unpaid administrative leave on Jan. 12 and was dismissed from his position on Feb. 4, after serving 33 years with the city.  Public Works Director Dan Dinges discovered the suspicious spending after reviewing LeMaire's expenses while LeMaire was on vacation.
