From Glen Ellyn to Batavia to Geneva, sex offenders have certainly been in the news lately.

Geeez! My first writing break in three years and all heck breaks loose! Well, maybe not “all heck,” but it’s not every day they pick up someone for possession of child pornography a scant two blocks from your house. It’s certainly been the talk of the neighborhood. And I’m guessing the fine folks in Glen Ellyn are having some similar conversations. Let’s start with Geneva. On June 14, the Geneva Police, in conjunction with Illinois State’s Attorney investigators, arrested Gary Reschke, 56, of 3102 Larrabee Dr., Geneva, on 12 counts of aggravated child pornography and three counts of child pornography. Police discovered both images and videos in his home. The culmination of a four-month investigation, those charges could put Reschke in jail…
