Batavia's River Street Open Again

One of Batavia's prized downtown streets is open again to vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic. River Street reopened earlier this month with a new look and feel. The public is invited to join city officials at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, on River Street and State Street for a ribbon cutting ceremony. Guests are then encouraged to dine downtown and join the community on the Batavia Riverwalk at 5:30 p.m. for the Annual Celebration of Lights presented by the Batavia Park District. River Street is the first street in a series of streetscape projects to take place in the downtown over the next several years. Batavia's streetscape projects include upgrading all underground utilities, infrastructure improvements, as well as street improvements…
