If a car crashes through the front window of a strip mall in Geneva and no one is there to report it, does it still happen? The answer is yes, obviously, and please accept my apologies for not seeing it sooner.
Sometimes the car gets away from you. And sometimes the car-crash story does, too. I was going through my e-mails this weekend when I found some breaking news that I completely missed. A Geneva Patch reader named Kent Taylor sent us three photos on Dec. 13. "Was getting a flop this morning at Heidi's and happened on this," the e-mail said. Kent's photos show a vehicle crashed through the front window of one of the businesses in the 1400 block of East State St. Kent's caption says it was at Bob Green Cleaners, 1419 E. State St. I didn't see that one in the Geneva police reports—but that doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't released. I easily could have missed it if it was a one-vehicle accident, damages were low and no one was hurt. I have an…

The following arrest information was supplied by the St. Charles Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
One, two ... two car crashes A Geneva man crashed his pickup on July 27 after reportedly driving away from an earlier wreck, according to a police report. William Thomas Hunz, 33, of 609 N. Lincoln Ave., faces charges of reckless driving, leaving the scene of a crash and also was cited for several traffic citations. The first crash happened at the Indiana and South Third streets, where Hunz allegedly tried to pass someone in a Ford Ranger on the left who was in the middle of making a left-hand turn, according to the police report. After the driver of the Ranger told Hunz she was calling the police, he reportedly said that seeing his license plate was enough and drove quickly away. While on Indiana Street, Hunz nearly hit a Bobcat being …
