A winter storm walloped the Tri-Cities on Tuesday. Here's a recap and what to expect for the rest of the week.
It wasn't exactly a blizzard, but Tuesday's snowstorm shut down events and plans all over Kane County. Various news outlets reported a snowfall of 4.5 inches for the area. The storm climaxed in the afternoon, forcing the cancellation of many after-school activities and the early closure of public libraries in Batavia, Geneva and St. Charles. The storm also forced 500 flight cancellations at Chicago’s O’Hare and Midway airports, where flights that were not canceled were delayed by as much as an hour. The snow continues today with a one-inch accumulation possible, according to the National Weather Service. The high will be 36 degrees during the day with a low of 30 in the evening and a windchill of 21. The chance of snow drops to 30 percent …
