The reported cases of salmonella possibly tied to Aliano's did not involve the same group of people, and they were not reported on the same day, the Kane County Health Department said Wednesday. The six salmonella cases initially linked to Aliano's Ristorante, 90 N. Island Ave., in Batavia were reported separately throughout the week of Sept. 10-14, said Tom Schlueter, County Health Department spokesman. "They were reported through doctors," he told Batavia Patch of the cases. The doctors saw symptoms of, or identified the salmonella illness, in some of their patients. A popular downtown Batavia restaurant remained closed Tuesday while the Kane County Health Department investigated recent cases of salmonella. Aliano's Ristorante, 90 N. Island Ave., has been closed since Friday, said Kane County Health Department spokesman Tom Schlueter. The restaurant is fully cooperating with the investigation and closed their doors voluntarily.
