Anderson Easily Picks Up 14th District Democratic Nomination

Democratic nominee Dennis Anderson will take on uncontested Republican in November.

Dennis Anderson appears to be the Democratic nominee for the 14th Congressional District after leading the race with 74 percent of the vote. Anderson slugged it out with his opponent, Democrat Jonathan Farnick, and will now take on the uncontested U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren in November. The 14th Congressional District takes in parts of seven northern Illinois counties, including Dekalb, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will. These results are the total of all currently reporting counties plus the Aurora Election Commission. Anderson is easily leading after 98 percent of total precincts reporting. Democrat Dennis Anderson Announces Run for 14th Congressional Seat

Anderson faces another Democrat in the March 20, 2012 primary election.

Democrat Dennis Anderson, of Gurnee, has announced he will run for Congress in the newly-redrawn 14th Congressional District. Anderson faces former McHenry alderman Frank McClatchey, also a Democrat, in the primary election.  Anderson said he decided to run for office because he is as frustrated as many others by the current climate in Washington. "People are struggling just to make ends meet, but many in Congress have apparently decided that it is more important to score partisan points," Anderson said. "It should be about putting people first." Anderson thinks job creation and deficit reduction are critical to economic recovery. He blames the Republican-controlled House for failing to address these issues.  Anderson spent his career in …

As Walsh has demonstrated time after time, he doesn't want to hear anyone else, just like he has no intention of paying his ex-wife the $100,000 he owes her. Frankly, he's such a screw-up, I expect him living at the Gray Bar Hotel from three to five years sooner rather than later.   more ›

Randy Hultgren: First Six Months Have Been Challenging Effort to Cut Red Tape

Randy Hultgren represents the 14th Congressional District, which includes all or parts of Batavia, Geneva and St. Charles.

Six months ago, I was sworn in as a member of the 112th Congress, one of 96 new representatives, including 87 Republicans. Since then, I have worked tirelessly to keep the promises I’ve made to my constituents, shrinking the size of the federal government, cutting spending, working to restore our nation to fiscal health and putting Americans back to work. Like so many of my constituents, I know that the government cannot create private-sector jobs, but it can create barriers to future private sector-job creation and even destroy jobs. Every time I return to the 14th District and speak to small-business owners and job-creators, they tell me that they’re terrified of the red tape coming from the Washington bureaucracy, and without …
