People with Special Needs Invited to Thursday Performance of 'Honk! Jr.'

It can be difficult for people with special needs to take in a theatrical presentation.  This Thursday evening, there’s a show that’s just for them; those with special needs—and their family members—have a special invitation. Honk! Jr., based on Hans Christian Andersen’s classic story of the Ugly Duckling, will be performed this weekend at the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, presented by Geneva-based Rising Star Theatreworks. The final dress rehearsal on Thursday evening doubles as a theatrical presentation for people with special needs, who will be admitted free. That show begins at 7 p.m. This is the fifth show which RST has opened to those with special needs, and their families.  “There are some people who simply can’t go to the theater…
