This weekend, there's this little thing happening in the town next door called Scarecrow Fest. You can read more about it on St. Charles Patch, if you're interested. And if you really want to go north, young man, there's Lynyrd Skynyrd + John Kay & Steppenwolf at the riverboat in Elgin.
In Batavia, there's a really wonderful event Saturday, when the Batavia VFW hosts its annual toy and food run.
Closer to home, we've got the Geneva Vikings football team, although they're on the road, traveling to Elgin on Friday night, and we've got the very cool Chester Gould, Dick Tracy & Me at the Geneva History Center.
Chef Alain Roby debuts his second edition of his acclaimed cookbook at the All Chocolate Kitchen on Saturday.
