Big Event This Weekend: Football Playoffs

The big event this weekend? High School football playoffs, baby.

Geneva High School will host St. Patrick High School in a Class 7A football play-off game at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at Burgess Field.

Ticket prices are $5 for everyone and will be available beginning at 6:30 on Friday night. There will be no passes or season tickets.

Geneva High School students can purchase tickets during their lunch hours and can also make purchases for family members at that time.

St. Patrick is part of the East Suburban Catholic Conference. The Shamrocks are 6-3 overall, 4-2 in the conference. Like Geneva, two of their three losses came during the first three weeks of the season, and they are coming on strong at the end, with five straight wins, including a 22-21 victory over Joliet Catholic — JC's only loss all season.

The Vikings are 7-2 overall, 5-1 in the Upstate Eight. They've performed as well as anyone might have expected and won the close games — 29-27 over Oswego in the first game, 35-28 over St. Charles North, 35-21 over St. Charles East and 49-45 over Matea Valley.

Friday's game should be a doozy.

Playoff T-Shirts Available at Game
