Merry Christmas to all! Here's what's open and what's going on.
Something's going on the week ahead in Geneva. Let's see, what could it be? Oh yeah, there's this thing called Christmas.

What's open/closed?
Christmas: City Hall and city buildings will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 24 and 25 for Christmas.

New Year's: City offices closed Wednesday, Jan. 1, in honor of New Year’s Day.
Garbage Pickup: Christmas/New Year's: All collections will be delayed by one day during the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.School District 304
Christmas/New Year's: Students are off Monday, Dec. 23, through Friday, Jan. 3. (Classes resume Monday, Jan 5.)

Christmas/New Year's: The library is closed.
- Christmas Holiday — Wednesday, Dec. 24 and Thursday, Dec. 25
- New Year's Holiday — Wednesday, Dec. 31 (Closing at 1 p.m.)
Christmas/New Year's Day: The post office lobby is closed.
Lobby hours are 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to noon Saturday.
There is, of course, no mail delivery on those holidays.
Metra TransportationIt's probably best to check the Metra schedule online for changes or updates.
Typically, the holiday schedules are the same as Sundays. Trains leave the Geneva station for Ogilvie Transportation Center every two hours on the 37s, from 8:37 a.m. to 10:37 p.m. and arrive in Chicago an hour and 13 minutes later.
From Ogilvie to Geneva, trains leave Chicago every two hours from 8:40 a.m. to
10:40 p.m. and arrive in Geneva on the 47s — from 9:47 a.m. until the last train arrives in Geneva at 11:47 p.m.
Christmas/New Year's Day: Stephen D. Persinger Recreation Center and the Sunset Racquetball and Fitness Center are closed on the holidays. Both close at 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
