HCE Invites Public to Participate in Grandparents Workshop

Grandparents have important gifts to offer – gifts that cost little or no money, but that build character and create fond memories. Registration is required by Jan. 31.

University of Illinois Extension and Home and Community Education (HCE) will be offering the workshop “Grandparents Have an Important Role in a Child’s Life” on Tuesday, Feb. 4. This program will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the University of Illinois Extension office, 535 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.  Pre-registration is required.

Grandparents have important gifts to offer – gifts that cost little or no money, but that build character and create fond memories. Today’s fast paced lives challenge grandparents as they search for ways to show their special kind of love. It is well worth taking the time to think creatively and find ways to enrich the lives of grandchildren. This program discusses the important roles of a grandparent and strategies to enhance the relationship between grandparents and the grandchild, as well as the parents.

This lesson will be presented statewide via the web by a Family Life Extension Educator. The lesson is provided free of charge, but advance registration is required by Friday, Jan. 31. To register, email the attendee’s name tojarmusz@illinois.edu, or call the Kane County Extension office at 630-584-6166. If a special accommodation is needed to attend this program, please notify at registration. All are welcome to attend this program.
