Ruby Foundation Excited About Today's (Saturday) Concert for a Cure

Concert for a Cure has a terrific music lineup, a second stage and more family fun for its fifth anniversary event.

Paul Ruby could not have envisioned the phenomenal success of the foundation he began in 2007. This grassroots foundation has developed and grown to raise awareness of Parkinson’s and to raise money for research of the disease.

Beginning with a golf outing and concert in August 2007, this event has grown to become the community tradition of Concert for a Cure. In its first four years, the concert has raised $300,000 for Parkinson’s research. The past four years have shown that grass has not grown under this rolling stone, and the fifth year will be no exception.

Concert for a Cure is celebrating its fifth anniversary on Aug. 27. This popular event not only provides a fun, family oriented day full of great music, but also supports research efforts for Parkinson’s disease, with all proceeds benefitting Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorder Center in Chicago.

With the addition of a second stage, and the diverse talent added this year, it is sure to be another great year at Concert for aCure," said Paul Ruby, founder of the Paul Ruby Foundation for Parkinson’s research.

To date, this year’s acts scheduled to perform include:
