Lobster Lovers Help TriCity Family Services Bring In $16K For Charity

The back parking lot at the old became the setting for a lobster boil as gourmets from the area picked up their seafood orders during the TriCity Family Services Great Lobster Fly-In last Saturday.

Bringing in about $16,000 for the not-for-profit human service agency, the Fly-In has been going strong for 25 years and is a favorite for Father's Day weekend.

"Every year we've done it a little differently," said Hallie Hudson, development associate.

The 8-ounce prime beef fillets, provided by Josef's Meat and Deli in Geneva, were added for those who don't like seafood or for those going for a surf and turf. Also added to the menu over the last few years is bread from the in Geneva and a cupcake box by The Latest Crave of Geneva.

Hudson said about half the people ordering preferred their lobster steamed, opting out of placing the live, squirmy crustaceans in a pot of boiling water themselves.
