On Friday, May 4, 2012, with hundreds of community supporters in attendance, the LivingWell Cancer Resource Center in Geneva celebrated the opening of its brand new, 15,600-square foot facility at 442 Williamsburg Ave. in Geneva.

Flanked by Mike Vivoda, CEO of Central DuPage Hospital and Tom Wright, president of Delnor Hospital, and surrounded by LivingWell Board members, donors, volunteers and other supporters, LivingWell’s Executive Director Nancy Vance and Geneva Mayor Kevin Burns officially cut the ribbon to the new building.

“We are so pleased with the community response,” Vance said. “We appreciate the overwhelming support from many people who have helped us to expand into this wonderful new space, including all of our Board, our donors, our volunteers and the Cadence Health System.”

The new facility offers a wide range of services for cancer survivors and their families,  including education, counseling, stress reduction classes, nutrition programs, children’s programs, fitness classes and much more, all completely free of charge.

“We are so grateful to the donors who make our programs possible, as we are dependent on the generosity of our community,” Vance said, "as one hundred percent of our operating expenses must be generated through fundraising."
