Rising Star Theatreworks: 'Seussical Jr.' Coming to Batavia Fine Arts Centre

Rising Star Theatreworks presents Seussical Jr. February 8-10 in Batavia.

Let your imagination roam with Seussical Jr. presented by Rising Star Theatreworks on February 8–10, 2013, at the Batavia Fine Arts Centre.

The Cat in the Hat and many of your other Dr. Seuss favorites come back in this magical musical by Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Oh, The Thinks You Can Think captures the show’s spirit of imagination, as the colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos.

The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton the elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing the tiny Whos, including Jojo, a child who gets in trouble for thinking too many "thinks." Horton must not only protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Lazy Mayzie. Although Horton faces danger and ridicule, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. This heartwarming tale of friendship, loyalty, and family reminds us that "a person's a person no matter how small."
