Walking Tacos, Walking Tours & Train Show for Swedish Days

Geneva History Center is ready for Swedish Days 2013.

(Lehmann Gross Bahn) Model Train Club of Chicago has created a train display with a scavenger hunt in our Bencini Room.  This club is famous for their displays at the Morton Arboretum each holiday season and for the annual Brookfield Zoo Holiday Magic lights display.  Admission $5, $3/GHC Members and children 12 and under and includes exhibitions "Start With A Sketch," highlighting cartoonists, illustrators and voice characters in the community and "Greetings from Geneva."  Hours: Tues. - Fri., 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sat., 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

WALKING TACOS & WALKING TOURS
Come hungry and try a Walking Taco from our concession booth in the alley.  What's a Walking Taco?  A bag of Fritos, crunched, add a spoon of taco meat, lettuce, cheese, sour cream and taco sauce.  Insert a spoon and take your taco on a Self-Guided Walking Tour of 25 locations in the Historic District.  Tour booklets will be available for $2 each.  Concession Hours: Tues. - Sat., 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sun., 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or until supplies last.

Check out our unique Geneva merchandise in our Museum Store - Geneva t-shirts, wine stoppers, hand-painted ornaments of Geneva buildings, framed historic images from our archives, new postcards, viking helmets, engineer caps, and train toys  - also a special Swedish Days Sale table.

Coming in July - GHC Kids Summer Camp for 7-10 year olds, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. each Tuesday in July.  Five different sessions of cartooning and illustration.  Register online or call GHC at 630-232-4951.  More info to come.
